Matthew 24:42 (ESV) Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
The sequence of prophecy were been outlined. Line upon line, Jesus broke the seal of the future's secret. They asked and listened. Good for the moment. But they were to stay awake if they must see these things come to pass without being overwhelmed by it.
So is it today that the future is upon us and still yet. Things written millennia ago playing out like live screen. Almost as though we could never know. Almost happening all too fast and swallowing many on its path. Stay awake, he says. Sharpen your focus and be alert, christian. Only those who are alert will see danger and avert it. Only those who sleep not will see glory and embrace it.
